His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia at The Kathina Festival at Royal Palace.
October 26, 2026
The Kathina Festival is one of the largest annual Buddhist traditions in Cambodia, where laypeople offer new robes (chivara) and donations to monks.
It lasts for a 29-day period each year, starting 15 days after the Pchum Ben Festival (from the first day of the waning moon of Assoch to the fifteenth day of the full moon of Kattik, usually spanning October and November).
It takes place right after Chol Vossa (the 3-month Buddhist Rainy Retreat), during which monks stay inside their pagodas to meditate and study the Dharma without wandering out.
