Classroom Forum on the History of Democratic Kampuchea (1975–1979)
Chapter 7: The Four-Year Plan (1977–1980)
On September 14, 2026, Takeo Documentation Center hosted a classroom forum for eight students (three female and five male) from Chea Sim Takeo High School, comprising six 11th-graders and two 9th-graders. The session focused on the Khmer Rouge’s Four-Year Plan (1977–1980), examining how the policy directly caused widespread famine and starvation under Democratic Kampuchea.
The program began with a guided tour of the center’s permanent photographic exhibition—both inside and outside the office—and an overview of the archival collections preserved on-site. The students then gathered in the classroom, where staff initiated a 30-minute introductory discussion to assess baseline knowledge and outline the structural causes of famine during the regime.
Following the introduction, students spent 20 minutes reading and taking notes on Chapter 7: The Khmer Rouge’s Four-Year Plan (1977–1980). They then broke into small groups to analyze five core questions:
– Why did the Khmer Rouge evacuate the population from Phnom Penh?
– What was the Four-Year Plan (1977–1980)?
– What were the two main priorities of the Democratic Kampuchea regime?
– What does “collectivization” mean?
– What was the purpose of collectivization under the Democratic Kampuchea regime?
Each group was spent 15 minutes to present their findings. During these presentations, DC-Cam team members supplemented the students’ analysis with documented survivor testimonies detailing the day-to-day realities of forced labor and severe food shortages.
The forum concluded with a screening of the 29-minute documentary film Behind the Walls of S-21.

នៅថ្ងៃទី១៤ ខែកញ្ញា ឆ្នាំ២០២៦ មជ្ឈមណ្ឌលឯកសារកម្ពុជាខេត្ត តាកែវ បានរៀបចំវេទិកាថ្នាក់រៀនមួយជាមួយសិស្សចំនួន៨នាក់មកពីអនុវិទ្យាល័យ និងវិទ្យាល័យជាស៊ីមតាកែវ(ស្រី៣ និងប្រុស៥នាក់) ក្នុងនោះមានសិស្សរៀនថ្នាក់ទី១១ចំនួន៦នាក់ និងសិស្សរៀនថ្នាក់ទី៩ ចំនួន២នាក់។ វេទិកានេះ មានគោលបំណងពង្រឹងចំណេះដឹងពីផែនការបួនឆ្នាំ (១៩៧៧-១៩៨០) របស់ខ្មែរក្រហម ដែលជាមូលហេតុចម្បងធ្វើឱ្យប្រជាជនក្នុងទូទាំងប្រទេសជួបប្រទះភាពអត់ឃ្លានពេញមួយរបបគ្រប់គ្រងដោយ ប៉ុល ពត និងបក្ខពួក។
សិស្សានុសិស្ស ត្រូវបានពន្យល់ពីផ្ទាំងពិពណ៌រូបថតអចិន្ត្រៃយ៍ដែលដាក់តម្កល់នៅខាងមុខ និងខាងក្នុងនៃការិយាល័យមជ្ឈមណ្ឌលឯកសារខេត្តតាកែវ និងបង្ហាញពីឯកសារខ្មែរក្រហមដ៏សម្បូរបែបដាក់តម្កល់នៅក្នុងទូរនានា។ បន្ទាប់មក សិស្សានុសិស្សបានធ្វើដំណើរទៅកាន់បន្ទប់ថ្នាក់រៀនដើម្បីស្តាប់ការពន្យល់។ ជាការចាប់ផ្តើម បុគ្គលិកមជ្ឈមណ្ឌលឯកសារបានវាស់ស្ទង់ចំណេះដឹងពីមុនរបស់សិស្សអំពីរបបខ្មែរក្រហម និងបានចាប់ផ្តើមពន្យល់ត្រួសៗពីមូលហេតុដែលនាំឱ្យកើតមានគ្រោះអត់ឃ្លានក្នុងរបបខ្មែរក្រហម ដែលបណ្តាលឱ្យប្រជាជនជាច្រើននាក់បានបាត់បង់ជីវិត។ បន្ទាប់ពីរយៈពេល ៣០ នាទី សិស្សានុសិស្សត្រូវបានណែនាំឱ្យអានមេរៀនក្នុងជំពូកទី ៧ គឺ «ផែនការបួនឆ្នាំ (១៩៧៧-១៩៨០) របស់ខ្មែរក្រហម» ដើម្បីដឹងរឹតតែច្បាស់ពីមូលហេតុនៃគ្រោះទុរ្ភិក្សក្នុងរបបខ្មែរក្រហម។ សិស្សានុសិស្ស បានចំណាយពេលប្រមាណ ២០ នាទីបន្ថែមទៀត សម្រាប់ការអាន និងកត់ត្រាចំណុចសំខាន់ៗនៅក្នុងមេរៀននេះ។ បន្ទាប់មក អ្នកទាំងនោះត្រូវបានបែងចែកជាក្រុមតូចៗ ដើម្បីធ្វើការលើសំណួរពិភាក្សាមួយចំនួនដូចខាងក្រោម៖
១) ហេតុអ្វីបានជាខ្មែរក្រហមជម្លៀសប្រជាជនឱ្យចេញពីទីក្រុងភ្នំពេញ?
២) តើផែនការ៤ឆ្នាំ (១៩៧៧-១៩៨០) គឺជាអ្វី?
៣) តើអាទិភាពចម្បងពីរយ៉ាង នៅក្នុងរបបកម្ពុជាប្រជាធិបតេយ្យជាអ្វី?
៤) តើសមូហភាវូបនីយកម្មមានន័យយ៉ាងដូចម្ដេច?
៥) តើគោលបំណងសមូហភាវូបនីយកម្មនៅក្នុងរបបកម្ពុជាប្រជាធិបតេយ្យជាអ្វី?
ក្រោយពេលបញ្ចប់ការពិភាក្សាក្រុម សិស្សឡើងធ្វើបទបង្ហាញអំពីចម្លើយរបស់ខ្លួន ដែលក្រុមនីមួយៗមានរយៈពេល ១៥ នាទី សម្រាប់ការបង្ហាញ។ ជាមួយនឹងការឡើងធ្វើបទបង្ហាញរបស់សិស្ស បុគ្គលិកមជ្ឈមណ្ឌលឯកសារខេត្តតាកែវ បានបញ្ជ្រៀបពី «បទពិសោធន៍របស់អ្នករស់រានមានជីវិតដែលធ្លាប់បានផ្តល់សក្ខីកម្មអំពីការជួបប្រទះការអត់ឃ្លាន» ដើម្បីបន្ថែមការយល់ដឹងដល់សិស្សឱ្យកាន់តែស៊ីជម្រៅថែមទៀត។
នៅចុងបញ្ចប់នៃវេទិកាថ្នាក់រៀន សិស្សានុសិស្សបានទស្សនាខ្សែភាពយន្ដឯកសារខ្លីរឿង «នៅក្រោយជញ្ជាំងនៃមន្ទីរ ស២១» ដែលមានរយៈពេល ២៩ នាទី។
