Hill Tribes Memory Community Center: A Handover of DC-Cam’s Publications to Tumpoun Community Library August 22, 2025

On Friday afternoon, August 22, 2025, DC-Cam’s Hill Tribes Memory Community Center handed over DC-Cam’s publications to Tumpoun Community Library, Ratanakiri province.

In response to a request by Sim Socheata, Programme Manager, Mekong Regional Water Governance at Oxfam, and a member of organising team of the Khmer Literature Festival, over 30 copies of the publications have been handed over to a representative from the Indigenous Community Library from Ratanakiri province. The handing over took place at the Queen Mother Library, Phnom Penh.

Sim Socheata said, “these publications will contribute to inspiring children and youth to love reading and study more deeply through increased understanding about history, concepts, thus increasing knowledge for all children and youth to reach quality, equitable, and inclusive education, and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all.”

This vision is in line with the objectives of the Hill Tribes Memory Community Center, which promotes education about the history of the Khmer Rouge and indigenous cultural traditions to serve memory, justice, and growth for indigenous communities in Mondulkiri and the entire Northeast region. The Center, established in 2024, serves as a research and educational hub and a meeting place to discuss important and necessary topics for the community.
