RADIO PROGRAM
2002-present

Since 2002, DC-Cam has been reading selected articles from Searching for the Truth magazine and portions of such books as Anne Frank’s Diary on a local radio station, Women’s Media Center FM 102, which reaches many of Cambodia’s provinces. We produce a radio program on this station twice every week. In addition, our staff members have been guest speakers on an FM 102-hosted talk show on the Khmer Rouge. In 2004, we expanded our coverage to two additional provinces.

For 2005, DC-Cam plans to expand its broadcasts to Battambang (which will also cover portions of Siem Reap, Banteay Meanchey, Pursat and Pailin), Kampong Cham, Sihanoukville and Svay Rieng. We will also explore various radio formats, such as forums or listener hotlines, to encourage audience participation in discussions of issues related to DK. (For instance, DC-Cam will ask survivors to tell their stories on air next year. We will also run a contest on the government-prepared booklet of questions and answers on the tribunal; awards will be given to the first listeners to call in with the correct answer.) Last, to increase the cost-effectiveness of our production, we have opened a new studio at DC-Cam that enables us to prepare high-quality pre-recorded tapes and send them to provincial radio stations.

* As of June 2007, we decided to cease our broadcast in Preah Vihear and Battambang for there are several similar programs being run in theses locations.

Early 2008, DC-Cam hang up broadcasting with Women Media Center FM102 (WMC) since we reached that FM102 now is working for one program about Khmer Rouge History too. However, DC-Cam's reader goes on reading selected articles for Searching for the Truth and publication, Brother Enemy, for Kampot Station, and work with VOA (Voice of America Radio)
